Updated advice for Parents on Covid 19

Close contacts in school settings: What has changed?

• All children who display symptoms of Covid-19 should be kept at home and self-isolate and GP advice should be sought as necessary.
• Children identified as close contacts of positive cases in school, who have no symptoms, no longer have to isolate.
• Children identified as close contacts in home settings will  to be asked to restrict their movements and be referred for Covid-19 testing, as per normal processes.

What are the symptoms of Covid-19?

The following image describes the symptoms of Covid-19.
A runny nose on its own is not identified as a symptom unless it is accompanied by other symptoms.

• You should keep your child at home if they display any symptoms consistent with Covid-19 . They should  immediately self-isolate, should not attend childcare or school or socialise and follow current public health advice. 

• The parents of any child who displays symptoms will be contacted and arrangements should be made to get them collected from school as soon as possible in line with our Covid Response Plan.​​
• Please do not send your child to school if they display symptoms as described above.
• Please do not give your child medication to bring down a temperature and then send them to school.
• ​When children are returning to school after an absence, their parents should fill in the Parental Declaration Form.
• As always, we appreciate your continuing support in ensuring that the members of our schools community are kept as safe as possible.
