Teacher and ICT co-ordinator Ms. Regina Power has managed to work her usual magic with her annual St Brigid's Cross Fundraiser in aid of The Ballinasloe Social Services. This fundraising initiative is the brainchild of Ms. Power and Ms Blade and has been hugely successful over the past number of years in raising thousands of euro in support of this worthy cause. This year, in spite of the limitations caused by Covid Prevention Restrictions, Ms Power managed to galvanise staff, teachers and community alike and succeeded in planning and overseeing the production and sale of St Brigid's crosses to the tune of the substantial sum of 2,713.14 Euro. Despite, pods, bubbles, masks and social distancing, children were enabled to learn how to make this wonderful traditional symbol of St Brigid. With the onset of a new public holiday in honour of St Brigid, the success of future fundraisers is looking bright! Huge thanks to Ms. Power and her third class as well as the local clergy, retailers and community who assisted in the project. Please take a browse through our gallery of photographs detailing aspects of the activities.
