To promote Movember and Active Breaks, 5th and 6th class ran a 'Mo-rathon' on Friday, 27th November. This involved the four classes running relays around the Astroturf over the course of the day. We covered 42km, the distance of a full marathon by 3pm on Friday the 27th November. A huge team effort from all four classes!! Here are some photos from the ‘Mo-rathon’ and some of the supporters that came out to cheers the athletics on! WELL DONE EVERYONE!!!!! and a special thanks to Ms Conway, Mr Ronaldson, Mr Geraghty and Mr Dolan for organising this super event.
Mr Dolan, Mr Ronaldson, Mr Lohan, Mr Geraghty and Joe have all been great sports and taken part in Movember for charity. We have only seen sneaky peaks of their wonderful moustaches as they have been covered by masks but word is that the are very impressive! Stay tuned for more updates..... we might even be able to sneak a photo or two!

Active Schools Flag
This year, we are working towards getting an Active Schools Flag for our school. The aim of the Active Schools Flag is to encourage schools to be more active, more often. It links in with all of the work we are doing throughout the year on Healthy Living - being active, getting exercise, taking care of our minds and bodies.
ACTIVE BREAK EVERY DAY CHALLENGE!
On Monday 16th November we started our four week Active Breaks challenge in our school. This means that every class is committed to taking an Active Break Every Day for four weeks. The benefits of this for the pupils are improved concentration in class, improved fitness and improved long term health benefits. Classes are trying out different activity breaks including running, dance and various other activities such as Go Noodle, Yoga, Stretches etc. It promises to be a fantastic four weeks the sight of 400+ children being active during break times was an amazing sight.
