Creagh NS School Uniform Consultation: March 2023
We are beginning the process of consultation with regard to possible adaptations to our school uniform.
Any changes brought in would be very gradual in order to have the least cost impact on pupils and parents.
Any changes for September 2023 would be very limited.

Staff and Board of Management are reluctant to change either our school uniform colour or school crest as we feel that these aspects form an important part of our identity and ethos.
Please answer the following questions. We will collate the answers and use them, along with other sources of staff, Board and pupil voice, to help make decisions with regard to future changes.

    • Currently children wear only a polo shirt /school track suit for Junior and Senior Infants. From first class children are required to have a crested jumper, polo shirt and trousers/skirt in addition to a tracksuit on PE days.
    • One cost saving measure could be that the years children are only required to wear a tracksuit are extended beyond Infants.
    • Any changes would be optional for the first number of years so that children could still wear jumpers/ other uniform items already purchased.
    • If it is decided to extend the wearing of school tracksuits as the main uniform to more classes, it may be necessary in the future to ensure that they contain the school crest instead of just the school name (as is currently the case.)
    • There will be no immediate change to the current school tracksuit design for next September.
(It is important to know that logo's and designs could not be an option for tracksuit bottoms. The generic bottoms mentioned are those bought as school uniform items and are stocked  in stores such as Lidl, Aldi Tesco, Dunnes, Marks and Spencers, Penneys etc.)
We feel that it would be best if fifth and 6th class, the two senior classes in the school, retained a more formal school uniform. This, we feel, is also good preparation for the transition to secondary school where uniforms are often more formal.
Please indicate which of the following options would be your preferred options for 5th/6th class in the future.
Many thanks for taking the time to let us know your preferences with regard to our school uniform.
We will be considering all opinions as we plan ahead.
We will be in contact with all parties prior to any changes taking place.
