Part of our on-going strategy to stay connected as a whole school community has been to devise a series of Learning at Home thematic weeks. Our art co-ordinator and all round creative expert, Mrs Caroline Gallagher has devised a series of activities for Art at Home Week 2020. On this page you will find all her inspiring videos as well as compilations of the amazing art work shared by children from every class in the school

Art At Home Week: 2020 Activity Videos presented by Mrs Caroline Gallagher

These tasks are presented in the format of  video tutorials. If you didn't get a chance to get creative yet, why not choose a task from the 5 activities attached below, tune into Mrs Gallagher inspiring step by step tutorials and get arty! (And once more a sincere thanks to Mrs Gallagher for all her most amazing efforts throughout the week) You can always share your creations with us on both your class platforms or email them directly to creaghnsonline@gmail.com.

Sketching

The first task is to go out to your garden and pick a flower and sketch/draw your chosen flower. All you need for this is a pencil, paper and maybe some colouring pencils. Remember to draw what you see paying particular attention to shape and line.

Designing and making

The second task is to design and make a medal for an event of your choice (art, music, sport). You need to keep your local area in mind. We want the medal to be a reminder of Ballinasloe when we look at it. This can be a drawing, painting or a 3 D creation.

Art inspired by Rainbow Fish

Task number three is to recreate The Rainbow Fish picture by Marcus Pfister. You can use any medium you want to recreate this - drawing, painting, paper collage. You need to examine the picture carefully paying particular attention to shape and colour.

Design and make a 3-D Hat.

Task number 4 is to design and make a hat using materials that you have at home. You will need someone to sit for you as a model while you create.Alternatively you could up-cycle a hat that you already have by adding decorations.

Get Crafty and Create some Creatures

The Final  task of the week is to go out to your garden and find 3 stones suitable for painting. You will need to wash and dry these before painting. Follow the painting stages on the video to create a Ladybug family.

Compilation videos of Art created during the week by children in all classes.
Thank you for sharing your talents with us.
